Retail and Merchandising is a sub-platform under Managed Services Group which focuses its operations on end-to-end supply chain services in merchandising operations, logistics, warehousing, and retail and product promotion.
This team is led by Gavino “Gab” Amado, who has over 30 years of experience in the retail and merchandising industry. He has undertaken various positions in the industry such as Retail Sales Manager and National Sales Manager.
What sets this group apart from other businesses is that it offers extensive services in the industry – brought about by the changing regulatory environment specifically the passage of Department Order 174 which prohibits companies from labor-only contracting. With the transition from purely labor service contracting, retail and merchandising saw the opportunity to engage in a wide-ranging scope of business in the industry, consequently, providing more job opportunities to the members of the community. The team also provides end to end human resource services from recruitment to payroll to employee engagement activities and other administrative control which enable the clients to focus on their core business functions.
One of the selling points of this group is the business innovations it undertakes to increase and optimize productivity by using a cooperative-developed inventory system called Aspire™ for sales associates and merchandisers. This inventory system tracks the work that has been done by the merchandiser and this makes their tasks more efficient as opposed to the traditional manual inventory. Some of its features include easily tracking of sales, it provides dynamic reports for fast moving products or stores which can be exported through excel, easily accessible through mobile phones and tablets as it is a browser-based system which also means clients can monitor their stocks on the go, and it is flexible enough to customize requirements fit for clients’ needs.
Additionally, retail and merchandising team has incorporated with its services construction which include store refurbishing and reconstruction. This is done in coordination with Asiapro’s Construction group. Lastly, brand activation is now part of its business innovation which serves as a value-added service that aims to market its clients’ products. Brand activation may include promotional materials and merchandise.
Through this team, the cooperative is able to help the sustainable growth and employment cooperative members especially those from the marginalized sectors of community. This new but familiar business platform aims to continuously provide meaningful and fulfilled lives with the cooperative members by giving quality service to the clients and to the members even more so.
