December 10, 2025 – Asiapro Multipurpose Cooperative, one of the Philippines' most prominent worker-owned social enterprises, secured a historic triple victory at the Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards (APEA) 2025. The cooperative was recognized with the Corporate Excellence Award and the Inspirational Brand Award, while its President and General Manager, Michael V. Gonzalez, was personally honored with the Master Entrepreneur Award.

The triple win is a powerful validation of Asiapro's pioneering "self-employed worker-cooperative" model, which transforms marginalized, non-regular workers into empowered "Coopreneurs"—co-owning members of the enterprise.


Master Entrepreneur Award: Michael V. Gonzalez

The Master Entrepreneur Award is given to individuals who provide the vision, direction, and tenacity to their companies. Michael V. Gonzalez, President and General Manager of Asiapro and tipón Federation since October 2023, was recognized for his transformative leadership and proven business acumen.

  • Accomplished Leadership: Michael is an accomplished business leader with over 30 years of senior management experience in construction and manufacturing. He is a Licensed Civil Engineer, graduating Cum Laude from the University of the Philippines and holding a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Stanford University.
  • Operational Impact: His tenure as Chief Operating Officer saw a 28% increase in annual revenues and a record-high efficiency gain, reducing financial disbursement processing times from 31 days to just 11 days. When he assumed the PGM role in 2023, the cooperative's revenues had risen to Php8.3 billion, up from Php6.5 billion in 2022.
