In the small barangay of San Bartolome, in the town of Concepcion, Tarlac, a total of 154 individuals received free eye screening services through the collaborative efforts of the Office of the Barangay Chairman, Kaakbay sa Kinabukasan Multipurpose Cooperative (KSK), and the Asiapro Foundation Inc (AFI). The activity was held on March 13, 2024 at the San Bartolome’s covered court.

Dubbed as the Eye Screening Project, the health initiative provided free reading glasses, vitamins and medicines, automated refraction, and online consultation with an ophthalmologist for diagnosis of existing eye diseases.

As a show of support, barangay officials led by Brgy. Captain Orlando M. Santos Jr., KSK members led by Ms. Angelica Galang, and AFI representatives spent the day ensuring that services were provided in a fast and efficient manner. 

Barangay Captain Santos expressed his appreciation for the opportunity provided to his constituents, majority of whom were senior citizens who have limited access to medical resources.
